From 1950 to 1958 Mary Alice Johnston lived on the Ile Saint-Louis in Paris with opportunities to photograph faces and places tourists rarely see. Returning frequently with her cameras over the years she was invited to exhibit her photos at the AC Domenech Productions gallery, 10 rue Bouterel, Paris during an historic celebration of the Ile Saint-Louis in 1980. Now living in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Colorado she is preparing a monograph illustrated with selected scenes from her Paris portfolio. 1956 Her first exhibition was at the USIS Benjamin Franklin Library, Paris. 1977 She was the featured artist at the Springfield Illinois Art Fair. |
